Muslim parent teacher Organization
Want to be part of a group that can create changes for your children and your future generations to come? We are calling on all parents who want better advocacy and awareness for Muslim students.
Our Mission
To empower Muslim parents in Texas with resources and strategic support to create safe, equitable educational experiences for Muslim students by fostering positive awareness, addressing bias, and advocating for student rights through effective communication and community engagement.
Events
We will be having our next Muslim PTO meeting online on January 29th at 11 a.m. Membership is free! If you have K-12 children in public or non-Islamic schools across greater Houston, then you don’t want to miss it!
We will be going over a lot of information that will be really useful heading into Ramadan and end of year activities.
Please try to circulate as much as possible and we highly encourage parents from every school to attend. Let’s unify the community to take meaningful actions for the sake of our kids! See you there inshaAllah!

About MPTO
The Muslim Parent Teacher Organization (MPTO) was conceived by Sania Rahim, a dedicated community member and mother in Houston, Texas, and founder of The Coalition for Peace, Relief and Equity. She had a vision: to expand across Texas build a supportive network for Muslim parents and educators to tackle all the challenges our kids face today.
The first year’s Officer team is a group of moms who share this vision and are committed to empowering families, strengthening educational partnerships, and fostering a thriving community rooted in Islamic values.
Starting here in Houston, we’re building connections and resources that we hope will expand across Texas and the nation, uniting parents, teachers, and schools in a shared commitment to our children’s success. Together, we’re shaping the future, one family at a time.
